Dog Beach – San Diego

A perfect Saturday afternoon. Sun. A ball. A frisbee. Dog Beach. A Lab and a Weimaraner.

Something we never really do; Dog Beach in Del Mar on a weekend… but we decided with the weather being like a summer day and the dogs needing to get out for some exercise we should venture out and see what was happening on the dog scene at the beach.

Turns out, it was a really great day. And if you could see the dogs now, it was even a greater day… as one of my mottos as a professional dog trainer is, “A tired dog is a good dog!” Both the Weimaraner and the Labrador Retriever are out, dinner & nap time… done for the day.

What a great feeling. You know how that feels. It doesn’t happen every day, but there have been those days when you were able to get out, get some exercise, some sun, and really forget about all the stress of the world… politics, bills, work, the computer, the cell phone, all the chores that need to be done… Instead enjoyed the day, got some fresh air and soaked in the joy of watching a dog run pell mell to retrieve a ball at the beach and then the big huge smile of the run back to you, and the drop of the ball at your feet, tongue out, wag on!

That was our day today. As we got there the realization that we had dogs that are well socialized, comes when called.. (even with 250 other dogs, balls, frisbee’s, & treats on the beach) and the ability to pose for a picture during all of that was beyond the perfect San Diego Dog Beach Day!
